How does a Haven Disability claim work?
Life is hard enough if you’re sick or injured. We’ll be with you at every step to make your disability insurance claim as fast and simple as possible. Here’s how it works:
1. Get medical attention, then let us know as soon as you can
Notify us online or by phone after you've met with your treating physician, and we’ll send you a digital disability claim form right away. We only ask for relevant information and pre-fill everything we can on your claim form to keep things easy.
2. Rest up while our dedicated agents evaluate your claim
We’ll immediately get to work reviewing your disability claim, and will be there to answer questions and keep you informed along the way.
3. Receive your disability benefit in your bank account of choice
If your claim is approved, we'll direct deposit your disability benefits in your account as soon as possible, and follow up to let you know what’s next.
4. We’ll be there from beginning to end
You’ll have a dedicated agent all along the way who can help when you need it. (And let you heal when you don’t.)
What you'll need
We’ve worked on making our disability claims as simple as possible. When you notify us, you'll just need:
Depending on the circumstances of your claim, we may request additional information.
You can use Haven Disability benefits for anything you need, including your rent or mortgage, car payment, food, utilities, and more. The money comes directly to you and can be used as you see fit.
You’ll need to have a total disability to qualify for benefits. That means…
- You have a condition caused by sickness or injury that prevents you from doing the important tasks, functions and operations generally required for your occupation that can’t be reasonably omitted or modified
- You’re under a doctor’s care
- The disability begins while the policy is in force
We consider your occupation to be your regular profession(s) or business(es) at the start of a disability for which you receive or can receive remuneration.
Haven Disability benefits aren’t subject to taxes. Because Haven Disability is purchased privately with post-tax money, you won’t be taxed on any benefits you collect.
Life can be hard.
Claims don't need to be.
It’s important to be honest in the application process. The issuance of the policy or payment of benefits may depend upon the truthfulness of answers you give in the application.
